This is a pretty cool site for finding old buds. It's free for the first six months, then you have to pay to join

I'll add it to the listings...

That reminds me that our hope in building the 'Grey Matters' section of the site was to have our members contribute to creating a really useful 'quick find' tool for valuable web resources....we just haven't had much time to expand those forums, but maybe its time to circle back around and do some of that. Its a lot easier when members make recommendations, so thanks....

Sarge - just wanted to say 'thanks'! for the togetherweserved link. I've already heard from several former Marine friends, including my 81 mortars platoon commander who was a major mentor for me, attended my commissioning, and was partially responsible for my meeting my future wife. I'd totally lost touch with him...turns out he's right down the road in Raleigh.

Amazing.

Boone, you bring up a question I've had for a while. In the course of my inveterate digging through online information sources I have stumbled across a few that I think might make good candidates for inclusion in the Grey Matters forum. Is there a protocol for suggesting a possible resource, a TN preference for posting one-in other words, how should I go about letting you guys know about it?

Easiest way would be to simply find the 'Gray Matters' forum that fits and post it as a reply there. If there are resources that you think are worthy but don't fit nicely into an existing 'Gray Matters' forum, just start a thread somewhere and we'll take a look at it.

Appreciate the interest! We spent a lot of time early on trying to establish this feature and then moved on to other things, but the idea was that our members would help us build upon it as Sarge did this weekend....

I signed up a while ago and I found people on there with so many pictures of me I had forgotten about (or wish werent there). It was a real blast from the past and I love that site. I found people from boot camp all the way up to the last week I was in.

I just reconnected with my old LPO out of VQ-5 in Agana, Guam. Chico Reyes was his name and the dude was so cool. He basically taught me how to drink in Yokosuka, Japan and how to bar fight and not get in trouble. We used to take the junior LTJG's out when we were on westpac and get them wasted and make them pay the bill..it was like a right of passage. When I would take them on deck for their quals I would make them hold my back belt loop or else "I will kick your ass off this deck and you won't fly a thing". hahaha

Chico is the same guy..a little older and bigger (like we all are) but the guy still has the same crazy look and big smile. It was like being in the honch all over.
