We had only marginal success with our previous version of the 'TN Radio' and it was very cumbersome to set up and update. In searching for a more viable alternative, we discovered one of our favorite websites, Pandora, had a module available allowing us to place a 'radio' on our site.

It works very simply. You'll see the new 'TN Radio' module on the left hand column of the home page. You can either click one of the initial 'stations' I've created, or you can create a station of your own (which will move to the top of the 10 station list in the module). One of two things will happen - if you have a preexisting Pandora account, Pandora will open to that account, add the station you just selected or created to your list, and begin playing. If you've never created a Pandora account before, firstly, you are in for a treat Secondly, clicking on a station or creating a station by entering an artists name, will take you to the Pandora site and open up a trial account. I don't believe there is any limit to that, so if you choose not to setup your own personal Pandora account (its free), you don't have to.

We hope you enjoy this new feature - I think it will be cool to have a running list (via the channel list) of what our members are listening to. If you have any issues or problems, please let us know as we are still getting used to the new module.

Mike, in my digging around, both in and out of Pandora, finding symphonic metal stuff I like I've heard some things by bands like Sirenia, Kamelot, and Tristania and I like some of what I heard, is this the kind of stuff you're talking about?

Actually I was just kidding to get a rise but I am a fan of finding new music. I started tinkering with it last night but I will get in to it more this week.

If I make a playlist I can add it here? I think it would be cool to see what everyone's taste is in music.

It's kind of hinky Mike. If you have your own Pandora account, when you search an artist and add them, it only adds them to your personal playlist. If you log-in to the Noosphere account though, then it'll add it to that playlist and the station list on the TN homepage will show it. I may just decide to post instructions to that effect in a link on the player module.

Okay guys/gals, think I've got most of the TN Radio issues worked out. If you plan on using it, probably worth scanning the 'TN Radio FAQs' page I put together. Let me know if you have any problems with it.
