A journey into the hidden secrets of nature
The Kerala state is blessed with a wide diversity in flora and fauna. It is due to the fact that this state is blessed with an unique topography involving lowlands, midlands and highlands. Most of the forests in the state are in the highlands. In kerala trips to the difficult parts of the forests requires the services of the experienced personnel from the forest department.
Often one would expect wildlife tourism – the credo for which has been described as “Take nothing but your memories, leave nothing but your footprints” – to be in tune with conservationist ideals (Miller, 1993). However, not even this form of tourism can be relied upon to avoid the “boom and bust” syndrome suffered elsewhere. The present global economic recession has resulted in a major shakeup in the tourism industry. Coupled with that, the recent developments in Kerala have resulted in significant changes in the hill resorts of Munnar and adjoining areas.
Unfortunately, many of the famous wildlife observers are party to what has been termed as “the myth of the non-consumptive user” on the wildlife (Wilkes. 1977). A large body of scientific research is now challenging this view. Visitors to the forests are encouraged to keep their belongings to the barest minimum, so as to avoid the accumulation of harmful wastes in the forests.
For example, research has indicated that cetaceans (the collective term for whales, dolphins and porpoises) exhibit a negative response when they encounter certain types of boats (Evans et al. 1992, Gordon et al 1992). The noise generated by the boats may interfere with the cetaceans’ echo location systems and may cause them to swim away from the source of disturbance.
Studies have shown that persistent boating disturbance may even lead to these cetaceans leaving an area altogether (Corkeron, 1990). Numerous studies have highlighted the concern that human-induced disturbance may have a significant negative effect on the success of bird breeding programmes by causing nest abandonment and increasing predation (Hockin et al. 1992).

In no way should this (possible spam) bishop123 be confused with the One True Bishop here on TN.
Accept no substitutions.

I think definite spam. This is the second such thread started about Kerala. I'd be interested to know if the owner's of those two accounts (bishop123 and drakes) are one and the same person. I see that drakes is no longer on the member list.
Cultural aspects that motivate travel to Kerala

I did some digging because I remember the first appearance of this almost certain spam here. I found on a blog done by apparently a computer science student in a German domain a text file listing user names used in a ssh-bruteforce spam attack and both bishop123 and drakes were on the list.
Here's the blog: Pastacode computer science blog
And here's the link to the text file. http://www.pastacode.de/code/ssh-use...rce-attack.txt

Wow, we've been asleep at the switch.
There will be no more Kerala spam.

Testing, 1, 2, 3.
Okay, just making sure the correct "bishop" got added to the block list and the One and Only True Bishop still has the ability to make pointless posts around here.
