Shot this on my way to the cab stand at the Venetian in Las Vegas leaving a 3 day Microsoft convention for embedded developers. Still one of my favorite shots. It is the very cool water encased walk-in "wine cellar" at the Aqua Knox Restaurant just off the casino floor. If you look closely you can tell that the streaking in places is actually water running down the inside of the plexi-glass case.

I cropped it to square for my avatar.

Very cool. Funny how your mind's eye sees what it wants to see. When I'd see your avatar on the board, I resolved it to something between an old-style telephone mouthpiece grid and a pop-art silicon-chip field of some sort. Thought it was striking in a post-modern way, but also thought it was an abstract.

Even after I read your description, it took a few seconds for my brain to hit the "return" key and let me see it for what it was.

I can see how you could see both of those things in this shot. The lighting and the convex shape of the subject added to the natural distortion provided by the lens barrel (it was shot with a 17mm wide angle lens at close range) give this a real pop-art feel.

No one, not even my friends with inside knowledge of my wino tendencies, has ever thought it is what it actually is so you are in some pretty good company.
